Tracking mosquito activity to protect community health

West Nile Monitoring Program

Monitoring mosquito populations and providing education to reduce exposure and risk.

Our West Nile Virus Monitoring Program tracks mosquito activity across multiple locations in our district by collecting and testing vector mosquitoes for the presence of West Nile Virus. This helps us better understand local risk levels and share timely information with the community.

In addition to monitoring, we provide education on how to reduce the risk of mosquito bites and potential exposure. This includes guidance on avoiding peak mosquito activity times, typically around dawn and dusk, using insect repellent, wearing protective clothing, and reducing standing water around homes where mosquitoes can breed. If exposure is suspected or symptoms develop after

a mosquito bite, we encourage

individuals to contact a healthcare

provider for guidance. Our goal is

to provide clear, local information

so residents can make informed

decisions to protect themselves

and their families throughout

mosquito season.
