Blue Dot Spot

Loup Basin is the only health department in Nebraska recognized as a Blue Dot Spot. A Blue Dot Spot is a place where staff are trained to recognize signs of mental health struggles during pregnancy and throughout the first year after birth, and to connect families with supportive resources.

This stage of life can bring major changes and emotional challenges for the entire family. Both parents may experience anxiety, depression, postpartum rage, and other mental health concerns. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where families feel seen, heard, and connected to help when they need it.

WIC

Women, Infants and Children also known as WIC, offers nutrition education, healthy food vouchers, and support to pregnant women, feeding mothers, infants, and children up to age five.

LBPHD WIC services will begin July 2026.

Lactation & Feeding Support

Certified Lactation Counselors (CLCs) are trained clinical providers who promote, protect and support breast feeding and lactation. While CLCs specialize in breastfeeding, they also provide compassionate, evidence-based support for formula feeding, pumping, combination feeding and all infant feeding choices - because every family deserves informed care, no matter how they feed their baby.
