Helping Communities Prepare, Respond, and Recover
Emergency Preparedness
Planning, partnerships, and public health response efforts that help keep our communities safe during emergencies.
Loup Basin Public Health Department works year-round to help communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies and disasters. Emergency preparedness involves planning, training, communication, and coordination with local, regional, and state partners to help protect the health and safety of residents during unexpected events.

Our preparedness efforts support responses to situations such as severe weather, disease outbreaks, power outages, hazardous material incidents, mass casualty events, and other emergencies that may impact public health or healthcare systems. Through training exercises, regional partnerships, and emergency response planning, we work to strengthen community resilience and ensure resources and communication systems are in place before emergencies happen.

Community Preparedness
Preparedness starts at home. We encourage individuals and families to create emergency plans, maintain emergency supply kits, and stay informed during emergencies. Taking simple steps ahead of time can make a significant difference during unexpected situations.
Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
Supporting Our Communities Through Volunteer Service
The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a network of local volunteers who support public health and emergency response efforts throughout our district. MRC volunteers may assist during public health emergencies, community events, vaccination clinics, educational outreach, and preparedness activities.

Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, including healthcare professionals, students, and community members who want to make a difference. Training opportunities are provided to help volunteers build skills and support community response efforts safely and effectively.
Whether responding during emergencies or assisting with community health initiatives, our MRC volunteers play an important role in strengthening local preparedness and resilience.
