Our Radon Awareness & Testing Program helps residents understand and reduce the risks of radon, a naturally occurring gas that can build up in homes without any visible signs. Because radon has no smell, color, or taste, testing is the only way to know if levels are elevated. Every home should be tested—new or old. Radon levels in Nebraska are among the highest in the nation, and more than half of homes tested in the state have levels above the EPA’s recommended action level. We offer short-term, at-home radon test kits for $12 when picked up in-office or $15 if shipped directly to your home, making it easy to get started. For best results, it’s recommended to use at least one test kit per 2,000 square feet of living space and place the kit in the lowest level of your home, such as a basement. We also provide guidance on how to use your testand understand your results.
